Our Passion Led Us to Create Starfish Sobbr Life for Women
There is a critical and urgent need for women’s sober living homes in the Kansas City, Missouri area. In Jackson County, there are ten times more sober living beds available for men than for women. This disparity leaves countless women underserved, overlooked, and denied stable housing simply because safe, supportive options do not exist.
Too often, women in recovery are turned away because:
There are no available beds, or
Waiting lists are months long, delaying care they need right now.
Starfish Transitional Living exists to change that.
We provide:
Safe, structured sober living housing
Job support and employment readiness
Peer support and mentorship
Connections to mental health and recovery resources
Women deserve a place to heal, rebuild, and rise — and Starfish Transitional Living was created to help make that possible.

This house has not only helped me improve my life AND myself in so many different ways, but also many other girls have had Starfish as a stepping stone to get exactly where they pictured themselves in life. Starfish is a very structured and loving place. We have the best family vibe in the house and anyone who joins our home is sure to be welcomed at the door and loved fully.
